Live, online via Zoom

• We will use Zoom for this class, so you will need to have internet access and a smartphone or computer.  Before the first session, your instructor will send you log-in information and tips on how to prepare for the class.
• Videos demonstrating the exercises will be provided in advance and should be watched prior to class.
• Classes will include live coaching and discussion.
• Homework will be assigned each week.
• Written materials, video demonstrations and recordings of the Zoom sessions will be available on Google Classroom. throughout the 6-week class period.

About this Class:

The Control Unleashed program is based on the books and DVDs by Leslie McDevitt. Originally designed to help agility dogs learn how to relax, focus, and work reliably off-leash, CU uses “conversational” training to build a solid foundation of life skills.

This class will focus on foundational behaviors and pattern games. The foundation behaviors will give your dog a repertoire of socially-acceptable methods of engaging with you and others. CU pattern games help your dog translate unfamiliar or overstimulating environments into a familiar, predictable framework that allows them to process the environment while remaining engaged and able to focus.

Prior to class each week, you will be asked to watch a series of videos that demonstrate certain exercises.  During class, you will discuss these exercises with your instructor, practice them with your dog, and receive coaching and feedback on your efforts.  Homework will be assigned!

This class is great for dogs of all ages and skills, and helpful for dogs who:

• Have trouble focusing in stimulating environments
• Struggle with over-arousal (jumping up, leash-biting, nipping, etc.)
• Display reactive, fearful, anxious or shy behavior
