Passing Dogs on Leash: Skills for Success
Focus and leash skills for dogs who LOVE other dogs
If your dog-friendly pup completely tunes you out or pulls with excitement around other dogs, this class is for you! Imagine more enjoyable walks with your dog who pays attention to you and calmly walks past other dogs. You will learn leash handling skills, techniques to engage and build your dog’s attention on you, and how to navigate challenges in the environment.
Week 1 is a live, online session via Zoom, during which you will be working with your dog on camera to learn key skills, prior to our in-person classes. A Zoom link and class details will be sent before the first class.
Weeks 2-4 are in-person at the training center, working around other dogs.
Note: This class is not appropriate for dogs who display reactive behaviors (barking, lunging) toward people or other dogs. Please see our Reactive Dog Classes if your dog is already displaying reactivity toward other dogs.
Age range: 6 months and older
Prerequisites: Puppy Kindergarten, Basic Skills for Adult & Adolescent Dogs (formerly Basic Manners or Adolescent Dog), or another positive class with the instructor’s permission.
Class length: 4 consecutive weeks (not including holidays). 60 minutes each. Make-up classes are not possible.
