About this Class:
Using scent to find food, odors, toys, and other objects is one of a dog’s most natural behaviors. Each session focuses on teaching fun, mentally stimulating, confidence building skills to dogs and their people, almost all of which can also easily be done at home or outside with little or no cost for equipment. This is not a class for people interested in Nose Work competition.
In this class, you will:
- practice scent games that you can easily play at home even after class has ended
- watch your dog progress from easy to more difficult finds
- learn about how dogs use their noses and get the instructor’s play-by-play of your dog’s body language as he or she searches
- gain a new appreciation for those leisurely, meandering “sniff walks” your dog might enjoy outside of class!
Prerequisite: Puppy Kindergarten, Adolescent, Basic Manners, Reactive Dog Class, or with the instructor’s permission.
Note: This class is not for dogs who are reactive to people.
